INDUSTRY FORUM: MARKET, MANUFACTURING AND MATERIALS Chair/Organizer: Wolfgang Jooss, Radovan Kopecek
Lunch Room This session focuses on the current state of PV manufacturing in the United States and Canada, emphasizing the interconnected aspects of Materials, Market, and Manufacturing. With a strong domestic supply chain from silicon production to module assembly, the US is positioned to meet increasing market demand for solar energy. Key materials, including advanced silicon and sustainable alternatives, are central to enhancing efficiency and reducing costs. As innovative manufacturing techniques evolve, technologies such as monocrystalline bifacial p- and n-type solar cells are set to dominate the market. This discussion highlights the importance of a robust materials infrastructure in driving growth and ensuring energy independence within the US solar industry. One of the major questions will also be what the industry expects from students in R&D. |
