After decades of flat electricity demand, rapid growth in data centers, manufacturing, and electrification is driving a significant increase in load. At the same time, rising liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, combined with constraints in global LNG markets, including geopolitical pressures such as disruptions to major shipping routes, are contributing to higher electricity costs. In this context, solar and battery supply chains are among the most robust of all generation technologies, and solar installations, particularly distributed rooftop systems, offer the fastest pathway to adding new capacity to the grid. As a result, solar energy is exceptionally well positioned to meet the current moment.
