Join Us and Your Colleagues and World Experts and Your Friends in Montreal!
Chair IEEE PVSC 53
As always, the IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference will offer a diverse, world-class technical program divided into eleven topical areas covering the breadth and depth of the most recent and relevant developments in PV science and engineering, manufacturing, reliability, deployment, policy and sustainability. Our exciting slate of keynote, plenary and invited speakers will share up-to-date research breakthroughs and new developments in manufacturing and policy. Our signature Sunday session will be dedicated to tutorials for students and entry-level professionals, as well as seasoned PV experts looking to expand their knowledge into new areas. The conference’s exhibition area will welcome companies to showcase their latest developments in characterization, materials, and manufacturing. All of these events will be enhanced by ample opportunities for networking to form new collaborations and friendships, as well as renew old acquaintances.
While we would love to see everyone in person, we also recognize that recent years have introduced unprecedented difficulties for many of us in terms of travel complications and restrictions, not to mention tightening budgets. As such this year we will be introducing a new PVSC Virtual Experience that we hope will help bridge the gap between regular attendance and missing out altogether. This new modality will also serve as a pathway for broader engagement around the world, helping to bring together, educate, and invigorate the ever-growing PV specialists community. Details will be posted to the conference website as they become available. And for our international friends who are still able to attend in person, we urge you to get a head-start on your Canadian visa application, and we will work to expedite invitation letters when necessary.
We have retained lodging for the in-person meeting across three hotels — Hotel Le Westin Montreal, Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain, and DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal — near the Palais des Congrès de Montréal (convention center), as well as additional low-cost student rooms located just a short distance away on the campus of McGill University. The hotels are conveniently located near the convention center in the beautiful and vibrant downtown district, just blocks from the St. Lawrence River waterfront, the iconic Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal, copious dining and retail options, and more!
The PVSC Organizing Committee is strongly committed to creating an inclusive and respectful conference environment that values and seeks the variety of dimensions that age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic status, religious beliefs, experiences, perspectives, lifestyles, geographic regions and cultures have to offer.
On behalf of the more than 100 tireless volunteers who comprise the PVSC Organizing, Technical, Cherry, and International Committees, we look forward to personally welcoming you to Montreal for the 53rd IEEE PVSC!
