Impact factors in intra-laboratory measurement reproducibility for photovoltaic modules

Abstract


In this paper, the intra-laboratory reproducibility for photovoltaic (PV) module electrical parameters measurement was studied. The intra-laboratory measurement reproducibility of electrical parameters was estimated with the extreme value method. This method can be well applied even if the number of current-voltage curve measurement is very limited. Moreover, the effect of irradiance and temperature on the intra-laboratory measurement reproducibility was studied. It is found that the intra-laboratory reproducibility of Isc is the smallest, followed by that of Imp, FF, Voc and Pmax, and the intra-laboratory reproducibility with respect to Vmp is the largest. The size order is basically the same at different irradiance and temperature conditions. Also, reproducibility of Voc and Pmax increase when irradiance and temperature increase. Reproducibility of Imp appears to decrease when irradiance increases. This work can shed lights on intra-laboratory measurement reproducibility determination and power degradation estimation for PV modules.
