Abstract
Glass breakage is random, but numerous risk factors affect fracture probability in PV modules. The risk of breakage can be reduced by addressing these factors. We make recommendations for reducing risk by improving glass; module assembly; or system design and operation. It is unknown which subset of risk factors is critical for a certain product or power plant. But makers of PV products can identify which recommendations are practical to follow. Any of the actions we recommend will reduce risk.
