Effect of series resistance on offset of STC-corrected maximum power of photovoltaic modules

Abstract


Correction procedures in IEC 60891:2021 are indispensable for characterizing photovoltaic (PV) modules. Series resistance is the crucial predetermined parameter in correction procedures. In this paper, we investigate the impact of different determination methods of series resistance on offset of maximum power after STC correction of PV modules. It is found that the variation of offset caused by series resistance determination methods exhibit significant discrepancies at different test conditions. This work provides new insights for effectively implementing correction procedures in IEC 60891:2021.
