Abstract
Correction procedures are indispensable for characterizing photovoltaic (PV) modules. Recently, we have reported that there exists offset of maximum power points before and after standard test conditions (STC) conditions using correction procedure 4 in IEC 60891:2021. Series resistance is the crucial input parameter of correction procedure 4. In this paper, we investigate the effect of different determination methods of series resistance on offset of maximum power after STC correction of PV modules. It is found that the offset is highly dependent on the irradiance and module temperature test conditions. Moreover, the variation of offset caused by series resistance exhibit significant discrepancies at different test conditions. This work provides new insights for effectively implementing correction procedure in IEC 60891:2021.
