Abstract

This paper presents the performance analysis of an anonymized 1.5 MW utility-scale DC-coupled PV-plus-storage plant with bifacial module test blocks. The system integrates PV capacity with lithium-ion battery through a shared DC bus and bi-directional inverter. Functionalities of maximizing solar generation or maintaining specified state-of-charge in different control modes are presented. Analysis of experimental test blocks shows bifacial modules achieve higher yield than monofacial modules, with high-albedo surfaces providing additional gains. The full paper will include other observations, such as unexpected oscillation behaviors
